Apple is planning to offer iOS 8 as a free update when it launches sometime in September or October this year. The devices that will be compatible with the new iOS 8 are iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and newer versions that came after these devices. The new Operating System is rumored to come with the new iPhone 6 later this year. Unlike the move that Apple did with iOS 6 to the iOS 7 with some new visual changes, the iOS 8 looks a little more like the iOS 8 in terms of visual. Revamped iCloud drive:
The new iCloud drive will make users be able to save their stuff including videos, photos and music directly. You will also be able to save files from some apps. The most amazing thing is that you will be able to access everything you have in your iCloud drive when you log into the iCloud website from any device. The only issue is that we will only have 5GB of storage available but the good news is that there will be additional storage of up to 20 GB which can be purchased.
iMessages- Something New:
The main change in messages is that with the iOS 8, users will be able to send audio and video files which they borrowed from Whatsapp. This will also feature to group conversations and this should put big smiles on all group lovers. A function that we all have been crying for is the Do Not Disturb function which will allow users to mute messages. Another added feature that the iOS 8 brings about is the ability for the user to share their location, a feature that was in Find My Friends. You will be able to access this when you tap on the Details button which will be found on the top right of a conversation.
Mail on the GO:
The biggest update for the mail with the iOS 8 is the ability to flip through earlier messages at the same time when you are composing a new mail. With the older mail, you had to had to save a draft of the mail you are composing and after checking previous mails, you would go back to complete the compose. This is a mind blowing option and that’s not all, there is also a swiping feature for deleting mails, swiping to the left brings the Archive options and a swipe to the right gives the user an option to mark mails as read.
Track Health Smartly:
This is my favorite app so far, users will now be able be monitor their heart rates with this new app. All your health and fitness data will be available in one place. Now, other intermediary apps like MyFitnessPal, Fibit and Nike Fuelboard will be able to share data with the new Health app and that means that you will access everything in a second. Honestly, Apple iOS 8 health application might overtake other popular third party health apps.
